Every Orthodox knows a regular prayer rule, including reading prayers in the morning and evening. Morning prayers are an invariable ritual of believers that helps to direct the soul before a difficult day, protect from temptations, and give strength. They are necessary along with public prayers. In the article we will tell you how to read them, why in the morning, and list the most effective prayers for the whole family.
The power of morning prayer
The modern ritual of daily prayers was formed more than 200 years ago and tested by centuries of experience in church practice and the monastic way of life. It was believed that in the morning a person turns to God for guidance, asks to be directed, calls for help in future affairs and prays for favor.
Prayers to the morning prayer rule include:
- after a night's sleep,
- at the beginning of the day.
These include 24 prayers, which are certainly read in order. This allows you to tune in the proper tone in communication with the Lord, give strength for the whole day and tune the soul. However, in the modern world, there is not enough time to read each prayer, so some are limited to initial prayers or the Seraphim rule.
Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, prayers for Thy Most Holy Mater and all the saints, have mercy on us. Amen.
Have mercy on us - be merciful to us, forgive us. Jesus is the Savior. Christ is the Anointed. It is so named because it fully had those gifts of the Holy Spirit that the kings, prophets, and high priests received in the Old Testament through anointing. Prayer - for prayer or prayer.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God - the second Person of the Holy Trinity. As the Son of God, He is our true God, like God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. His earthly name is Jesus, that is, the Savior, because He saved us from sins and eternal death. For this, He, being the Son of God, dwelt in the Immaculate Virgin Mary and, at the influx of the Holy Spirit, incarnated and became human from Her, that is, received the body and soul of a man - was born of the Blessed Virgin Mary, became the same person as we are, but only was sinless - became the God-man. And instead of suffering and suffering for our sins, He, for the love of us, His children, suffered for us, died on the cross and rose on the third day, defeating death and sin and giving us eternal life. Conscious of our sinfulness and not hoping for the strength of our prayers, in this prayer we ask to pray for us sinners before the Savior of all our saints and the Mother of God, who has special grace to save us, by His intercession before His Son.
Transfer: Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, through the prayers of Your Most Holy Mother and all saints, have mercy on us.
Glory to you, our God, glory to you.
Glory is praise. In this prayer we do not ask God for anything, we only praise Him. It can be said shorter: Glory to God. It is pronounced at the end of the work as a sign of our gratitude to God for His mercy to us.
Transfer: Praise be to you, our God, praise be to you.
What prayers to read in the morning?
Do not confuse morning prayers in Russian with reading morning prayers in Church Slavonic or special secretly-performing prayers that are offered only by bishops and clergy.
As a morning prayer for beginners, the Seraphim rule, which includes:
- Three readings, “Our Father”,
- Three times, “Virgin Mary, rejoice ...”,
- Once I believe.
Among the main morning prayers sung by Orthodox believers, the following should be noted.
The beginning of morning prayers
Having risen from sleep, first of all another matter, become reverently, introducing yourself to the All-Seeing God, and, having created the sign of the Cross, say:
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen - True, true, so be it (Hebrew.).
In the first words of our morning prayers, we invoke the Triune God — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — and we devote all our prayers to Him, His name.
"We must learn how to stay in the presence of the invisible Lord, as we would in the presence of the Lord, who makes us visible ..."
Sign of the cross - sign of the cross. A sign is a symbol, an image, but also a military banner and a miracle (we recall the expression “miracles and signs” in the Holy Scriptures). The sign of the Cross is our testimony of the crucifixion of Christ; it was used in all circumstances of life by the first Christians. This sacred and terrible sign is full of great power, and it should be used clearly, carefully, without the slightest carelessness. The first three fingers of the right hand (thumb, index and middle) are put together, as a sign of our faith in the One and Inseparable Holy Trinity. The ring finger and little finger are bent to the palm, which marks the two natures of the Lord Jesus Christ (that he is the true God and the true Man). Now with three folded fingers with the words In the name of the Father ... we touch our forehead, in a sign of sanctification of the mind, then, with the words ... and the Son ... - to the bottom of the chest (and even just below the chest, to the navel, so that the cross drawn on the body is proportional rather than upside down), in a sign of sanctification of the heart, then with the words ... and the Holy Spirit! - to the right and left shoulder, as a sign of the consecration of the works of our hands and all bodily forces. Finally, with a lowered hand and bowing, we say: Amen (When the sign of the cross accompanies another prayer, these words, of course, are not pronounced).
The sign of the cross should be imposed in such a way as to feel the touch of one's own hand (and not to baptize the air), and the bow should be put only after touching the right and left shoulders (without "breaking the cross" before it is drawn).
Then wait a bit until all your feelings come to silence and your thoughts leave all that is earthly, and then say the following prayers without haste and with hearty attention.
"Never prayers in a hurry, and not hurry, with thoughts and feelings that are expressed in recited prayers. The correctness of our prayers is disturbed by thoughts. Try to fix this. The first step to this is to start the prayer, arouse the fear of God and reverence, then become attention in the heart and cry out to the Lord from there. "
Saint Theophan the Recluse

Prayer to the Holy Spirit
To the Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Soul of Truth, Even this whole thing to fulfill, Treasure of the good and life to the Giver, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, Better, our soul.
In this prayer, we pray to the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Holy Trinity. We call it the Holy Spirit the King of Heaven, because He, as a true God, equal to God the Father and God the Son, invisibly reigns over us, owns us and the whole world. We call him Comforter, because He comforts us in our sorrows and tribulations. We call Him the Spirit of truth (as the Savior Himself called Him), because He, as the Holy Spirit, teaches everyone only one truth, truth, only that which is useful to us and serves to our salvation. He is God, and He is everywhere and fills everything with Himself: even this everywhere and do everything. He, as the manager of the whole world, sees everything and, where necessary, gives. He is the treasure of the good, that is, the guardian of all good deeds, the source of all the good that you need to have. We call the Holy Spirit - the life of the Giver, because everything in the world lives and moves with the Holy Spirit, that is, everything receives life from Him, and especially people receive from Him spiritual, holy and eternal life beyond the grave, cleansing through Him of their sins. We turn to Him with a request: “Come and settle in us,” that is, constantly abide in us, as in your temple, cleanse us from all filth, that is, sin, make us holy, worthy of Your stay in us, and Save, The Good Source of the highest good, our souls from sins and those punishments that are for sins, and through this, grant us the Kingdom of Heaven.
Transfer: The King of Heaven, the Comforter, the Spirit of truth, who exists everywhere (who is) and who fills everything (with His presence), the Treasure of blessings and the Giver of life, come and dwell in us, cleanse us from all sin and save, Preblad, our souls.
Prayer for the morning prayers
If for some reason believers cannot visit the temple, then read the morning rules at home. A complete list of morning rules is in the prayer book, but it is better to start with short prayers. Among them the following must be present:
- Initial prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, prayers uttered for the saints, have mercy. Amen".
- Appeal to the Holy Spirit. “Heavenly prince, if you are omnipresent and fulfilling, preserve our blessings and give life. Save from bad thoughts and save our souls. "
- Prayer to the Trisagion. "Holy God, Holy Strong, Holy Sound, have mercy on us."
- Holy Trinity. “Waking up from a dream, thank you, Holy Trinity. You can reign and watch our deeds. You can judge and forgive for all the chanting. Give me patience and do not be angry with me, lazy and sinful. Enlighten my eyes and tell Thy commandments to confess my heartiness. I chant all your holy name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen".
- Song of the Blessed Virgin Mary. “Virgin Mary, rejoice, if the Lord be with you. Blessed are you in the wives with the fruit of thy womb, save our beloved soul. ”
Prayer of the Publican
The first prayer after “Our Father” is the prayer of the Publican, which is described in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 18, verse 13. It contains an appeal to God and the forgiveness of his mercy.
Orthodox prayers from corruption and witchcraft
"God, be merciful to me a sinner."
After you definitely need to bow. This prayer explains that regardless of sins, a person can come and repent before the Lord. It is important to turn your heart and repent.
God be merciful to me a sinner (Bow).
Publican - a tax collector, in the 1st century this word was almost equivalent to the word "sinner".
Be me - be to me.
As an example of true prayer, these words were cited in His parable by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself:
"He also said to some who were confident about themselves that they were righteous, and destroyed others, the following parable: Two people entered the temple to pray: one Pharisee and the other publican. The Pharisee, becoming, prayed in himself like this: God! Thank you It’s for you that I’m not like other people, robbers, offenders, adulterers, or like this publican: I will partake of myself twice a week, I give a tenth of all that I gain. but striking himself in the chest, he said: God! Be merciful to me a sinner! I tell you that this one went annym his house rather than the other: for every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and humbling himself shall be exalted (Luke 18: 9-14).
If we have good deeds, they are our duty to God, not merit, and our sins are incomparably greater than good deeds, and only one mercy of God can cover our unworthiness: God, be merciful to me a sinner. According to St. Ignatius Brianchaninov, "at least who stood at the very highest virtues, but if he does not pray like a sinner, his prayer is rejected by God." In prayer, you need to have a repentant and humble heart, asking and crying.
"What is grace kept in the soul best of all? By humility. What is the main reason for departing? From any movement of pride, self-conceit and self-confidence. As soon as she smells this bad smell of pride inside, she immediately leaves."
Saint Theophan the Recluse.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.
(Read three times, with a sign of the cross and a bow to the waist.)
Strong - strong, Immortal - undying, eternal. We pray this prayer three times in honor of the three Persons of the Holy Trinity. This prayer is called the “Trisagion,” or “Angelic Song.” Christians began to use this prayer after 400, when a strong earthquake in Constantinople destroyed houses and villages and the people, together with Emperor Theodosius II, turned to God with a prayer. During the service, one pious youth in front of everyone was raised by invisible force to heaven, and then unharmed again lowered to the ground. He said that he had heard the singing of angels in heaven: the Holy God, the Holy Strong, the Holy Immortal. The tender people, repeating this prayer, added: have mercy on us, and the earthquake ceased. In this prayer, we call God the first Person of the Holy Trinity - God the Father, Strong - God the Son, because He is as omnipotent as God the Father, although He suffered and died in humanity, Immortal - the Holy Spirit, because He is not only Himself eternal as the Father and the Son, but gives life to all creatures and immortal life to people. Since the holy word is repeated three times in this prayer, it is called the Trisagion.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and ever and forever and ever. Amen.
Glory - praise, now - now, ever - forever, forever and ever - or forever.
In this prayer we do not ask God for anything, we only glorify Him, who appeared to people in three Persons: the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who now and forever have the same honor of glorification.
Transfer: Praise the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now, always and forever. Amen.
Interpretation of morning prayers
Initial. The interpretation of the initial prayer in the Slavic language is called so, because it is said before all prayers. In it they ask God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, that is, the Holy Trinity, to bless for forthcoming matters.
Prayer to the Holy Spirit. In this plea, parallel translation means a request to the Holy Spirit. In this request, the Holy Spirit is called the King of Heaven. He, as a true God, owns all people and the whole world. He is a comforter in sorrows and failures.
For reliability, you can read the descriptions in the gospel or in the editorial board of the pravmir.
“Trisagion” or “Angelic Song”. Believers use this prayer after 380 AD, when violent cataclysms destroyed all villages. The people, together with the ruler, entered into an alliance and turned to God. At the time of the service, the unknown lad in front of everyone was raised by an invisible force to heaven and then returned to earth with the news that he had heard the singing of the Angels.
The Holy Trinity is pleading. Briefly described, the request for help goes first to the three Persons together, and then to each Person of the Trinity separately.
A prayer to God for the forgiveness of sins, to God the Son for the restoration of justice and to God the Holy Spirit for the healing of earthly diseases.
Why read morning prayers?
Prayer is not a guarantee of the fulfillment of all desires. But we must believe and turn to God not only in grief and not only in prayer or akathistic with stresses or listen with subtitles. The morning call to God is an important part of our lives. Always trust your life to the Lord, believe, let His goodness and mercy into your fate through your morning call with your prayer.
Pray regularly in prayer or akathistic, listen with subtitles or read in your own words. The church blesses to believe and read even brief morning and evening prayers, which are in any prayer book or akathistic with stresses, daily (or, with the blessing of the priest, replace the short prayer with a rosary for 10-12 minutes). Join family prayer with daily prayers. Visit the temple and proceed to the Sacraments of the Church: Baptism, if not baptized, The wedding, which is God's blessing of your family, Confession and Communion. Read prayers before the Sacraments - this is church law.
Easter prayers in the morning consist of short Easter hours, they can also be heard with short subtitles.
Blessed Lady, my Mother of God, thy saints and all-powerful prayers otzheni from me, smirennago and okayannago thy servant, depression, forgetfulness, folly, carelessness, and all bad, wicked and blasphemous thoughts from okayannago my heart and pomrachennago of my mind, and put out the flame of passion my, as I am a beggar and I have repented. And get rid of me from many and fierce memories and enterprises, and from all the acts of evil freedoms. It is blessed that you are from all genera, and Thy honorable name is glorified forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer to the Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity, have mercy on us, Lord, forgive our sins, Lord, forgive our iniquities, Holy One, visit and heal our weaknesses, in Your name's sake.
The Most Holy - the supremely holy, the Trinity - the Trinity, the three Persons of the Divine: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, sins and lawlessness - our deeds contrary to the will of God, visit - come, heal - heal, weaknesses - weaknesses, sins, Thy name for the sake of glorifying Your name.
This prayer is pleading. In it, we turn first to all three Persons together, and then to each Person of the Trinity separately: to God the Father, that He will cleanse our sins, to God the Son, that He forgive our iniquities, to God the Holy Spirit, that He visits and heals the weaknesses our. The words for Your name's sake again refer to all three Persons of the Holy Trinity together, and since God is one, He has one name, and therefore we say “Your name” and not “Your Names”.
Transfer: Holy Trinity, have mercy on us, Lord (Father), forgive us our sins, Lord (Son of God), forgive our iniquities, Holy (Spirit), visit us and heal our diseases, to glorify Your name.
Lord have mercy. (Thrice)
Have mercy - be merciful, forgive me. This is the oldest and most common prayer among all Christians. We pronounce it when we remember our sins. To the glory of the Holy Trinity, we say this prayer three times. Twelve times we say this prayer, asking God for a blessing for every hour of the day or night. Forty times - to sanctify our whole life.
General Reading Rules
As with any other religion, Christianity has its own rules that must be followed:
- The place where the prayer is read is of particular importance, be it Catholic or Orthodox. Being in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere will yield only positive results than in an uncomfortable environment where everything will be distracting.
- Time spending. It is worth focusing your attention better on the rules of this or that prayer. It happens that you need to read it in the morning or in the evening.
- Great faith in God and faith in oneself. Do not forget that pleading to the Lord is a constant work on oneself. One cannot doubt anything; one should believe in the Divine and incredible grace of the Most High.
- Knowledge of prayers by heart, their translation and understanding of interpretation. If you don’t know the explanation of what you are reading, it is unlikely that this will send the necessary sign to the Lord. Prayers should be heard and memorized, especially if they are church. Do not forget the correct arrangement of stress, for authenticity check in an explanatory alphabet.
- Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is just as important as anything else. In addition to mental health, the physical and mental state of the worshiper is important. The energy channel must be open.
- The last canon has a special exception, which does not prohibit inventing or reducing the appeal to the Lord God himself. If a believing Russian Christian is confident in his abilities and his faith is full of sincerity, then in difficult times he can get up for a prayer to the Lord.
Having understood all aspects of morning prayers, you can safely use them in real life. Sometimes it happens that it is allowed to reduce the number of morning exercises in prayers or psalms, if there is not enough time for this. In prayer there are brief pleas for the Lord that do not take much time.
The rule of reading prayers
Follow a few simple rules when reading short morning prayers for a prayer book or akathistic:
- Read the morning prayer before deeds, resorting to the help of the Lord, it is better in silence, at least nothing should distract you.
- Before this, it is important to focus on the words of the morning prayer so that thoughts do not run up.
- Refuse from mechanical memorization and repetition of morning and any other prayers, trying to understand the meaning of the words spoken and their deep meaning, their strength in this and other reality. This is not dogma or law. It’s even easier to read the rule in the morning prayer for prayer books, in Church Slavonic, in the Old Believer, but not mechanically. Morning Prayers - A frequent request today.
- Prepare your thoughts for prayer, meditate on your confession of the sins and omnipotence of God, bow down with love before the Lord. This can be done even by reading prayer mornings with accents on a prayer book or akathistik. They can also be prepared for confession; church law is not opposed.
In the Easter season, the rule consists of short Hours and the Easter Canon.
Hail Mary, rejoice, Blessed Mary, Lord be with you, blessed are you in wives, and blessed is the fruit of thy body, as if Spas gave birth to our souls.
Appeal to the Holy Trinity
God is one in essence, but threefold in persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The prayer given to the Trinity is a symbol of the faith of the convert. With her they ask for absolution not according to their deserts, but to glorify the name of God. It is not about deliverance for the sake of something, but about salvation for the name of the Lord.
“Holy Trinity, have mercy on us,
Lord cleanse our sins
Lord, forgive our lawlessness,
Saint, visit and heal our weaknesses, in thy name's sake.
Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and ever and forever and ever.
The text is pronounced three times, and after each appeal to the members of the Almighty, one should bow.
Lord's Prayer (Our Father)
Our Father, Thou art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, may Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven and on earth. Give us our daily bread today, and leave us our debts, just like we leave our debtor, and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
The Father - the Father, Who else - Who, Even if in heaven - Who is in heaven, or heavenly, yes - let it be sanctified - glorified, like - like, in heaven - in heaven, urgent - necessary for existence, give - give, today - today, for today, leave - forgive, debts - sins, to our debtor - to those people who have sinned against us, the temptation is the temptation, the danger of falling into sin, the evil one - all cunning and evil, that is, the devil. The devil is called the evil spirit.
This prayer is called the Lord's, because the Lord Jesus Christ Himself gave it to His disciples when they asked Him to teach how to pray. Therefore, this prayer is the most important prayer for all.
Our Father, Thou art in heaven! With these words, we turn to God and, calling Him Heavenly Father, we call to listen to our requests or petitions. When we say that He is in heaven, we must understand the spiritual, invisible sky, and not that visible blue vault that is spread above us and which we call heaven.
Hallowed be thy name - that is, help us live righteously, holyly and with your holy deeds glorify your name.
Thy kingdom come - that is, to honor us here on earth, your kingdom of heaven, which is truth, love and peace, reign in us and rule us.
Thy will be done, as in heaven and on earth - that is, let everything be not the way we want, but whatever you want, and help us obey this will of yours and fulfill it on earth as unquestioningly and without grumbling as the holy angels in heaven fulfill it, with love and joy, in heaven . Because only You know what is useful and necessary for us, and You wish us well more than ourselves.
Our daily bread, give us this day - that is, give us this day, today, our daily bread. Here, bread means everything that is necessary for our life on earth: food, clothing, a home, but most importantly, the Pure Body and Honest Blood in the sacrament of Holy Communion, without which there is no salvation in eternal life. The Lord commanded us to ask ourselves not for wealth, not for luxury, but only for the most necessary and in everything we hope for God, remembering that He, as the Father, always cares - takes care of us.
And leave us our debts, as well, and we leave our debtor - that is, forgive us our sins as we ourselves forgive those who insulted or offended us. In this petition, our sins are called our debts, because the Lord gave us strength, abilities and everything else in order to do good deeds, and we often turn all this to sin and evil and become debtors to God. And if we ourselves will not sincerely forgive our debtors, that is, people who have sins against us, then God will not forgive us either. Our Lord Jesus Christ himself told us about this.
And don't lead us into temptation - temptation is a condition when something or someone draws us to sin, is tempted to do something lawless or evil. We ask - do not allow us to the temptation, which we cannot bear, help us overcome temptations when they happen.
But deliver us from the evil one - that is, deliver us from all evil in this world and from the culprit (boss) of evil - from the devil (evil spirit), who is always ready to destroy us. Deliver us from this cunning, crafty power and its deceptions, which before You is nothing.
Transfer: Our Heavenly Father! Hallowed be Thy name, may Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us our daily bread for this day, and forgive us our debts (sins), just as we forgive those who have sinned against us, and do not allow us to be tempted, but deliver us from the evil one (the devil).
Prayer to angel
Holy Angel, standing before my repentant soul and my passionate life, do not leave less sinful, lower back from me for my non-abstinence. Do not give a place to the crafty demon to possess me, by the violence of this wicked body, strengthen my dormant and thin hand, and insist on my way of salvation. She, the holy Angel of God, the custodian and guardian of my repentant soul and body, forgave me all, with great grief, I insulted me all the days of my belly, and even that we have sinned from the present, which has not been that I will persecute God in no sin, and pray for me to the Lord, that they may establish me in his land, and will show me my servant his worthiness. Amen.
Symbol of faith
1 I believe in the unity of God the Father, the Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible.
2 And in the unity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only Begotten, Even from the Father, born before all ages, Light from Light, God is true from God, true, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, All of being.
3 For us, for the sake of man, and for our salvation, he came down from heaven and embodied from the Holy Spirit and Mary the Virgin, and became human.
4 Crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and the sufferer, and buried.
5 And risen on the third day according to the Scriptures.
6 And he ascended into heaven, and the Father is seated at the right hand.
7 And the packs to come with the glory to judge the living and the dead, His Kingdom will have no end.
8 And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-giving, And from the Father proceeding, And from the Father and the Son we bow and glorify, having spoken the prophets.
9 In one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
10 I confess one baptism for the remission of sins.
11 I drink the resurrection of the dead
12 and life for the next century. Amen.
To believe in God means to have a living confidence in His being, properties and actions, and with all my heart to accept His frank word about the salvation of the human race. God is one in essence, but threefold in Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, one-essence and inseparable. In the Creed, God is called the Almighty, because everything that is, He contains in His power and His will. The Creator's words to heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible, mean that everything is created by God and nothing can be without God. The word invisible indicates that God created the invisible, or spiritual, world to which the Angels belong.
The Son of God is the second Person of the Holy Trinity by His Deity. He is called the Lord because He is the true God, for the name Lord is one of the names of God.The Son of God is called Jesus, that is, the Savior, this name is called by the Archangel Gabriel himself. Christ, that is, the Anointed One, was called by the prophets - so they have long been called kings, high priests and prophets. Jesus, the Son of God, is so named because all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are immeasurably communicated to His humanity and, thus, the prophet’s knowledge, the sanctity of the high priest and the power of the king belong to him in the highest degree. Jesus Christ is called the Only Begotten Son of God, because He is the only Son of God born from the being of God the Father, and therefore He is the one being with God the Father. The Symbol of Faith says that He is born of the Father, and this depicts the personal property by which He differs from other Persons of the Holy Trinity. It has been said before all ages that no one thinks that there was a time when He was not. The words of Light from Light in some way explain the incomprehensible birth of the Son of God from the Father. God the Father is the eternal Light, from Him the Son of God is born, who is also the eternal Light, but God the Father and the Son of God is the one eternal Light, inseparable, of the one Divine nature. The words of God true from God true are taken from the Holy Scripture: We also know that the Son of God came and gave us light and reason, that we know the true God and may we be in his true Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life (1 John 5, 20).
The words were born, uncreated, were added by the holy fathers of the Ecumenical Council to denounce Arius, who unjustly taught that the Son of God was created. The words consubstantial with the Father mean that the Son of God is one and the same Divine being with God the Father. The words of Imger all being show that God the Father created everything by His Son as His eternal wisdom and His eternal Word. For us, for the sake of man and for our salvation, the Son of God, according to His promise, did not come to earth for one people, but for the whole human race. Descended from heaven - as he says about himself: No one ascended to heaven as soon as the Son of Man descended from heaven, who is in heaven (John 3, 13). The Son of God is omnipresent and therefore has always been in heaven and on earth, but He was previously invisible on earth and only became visible when He appeared in the flesh, embodied, that is, took upon Himself the human flesh, except sin, and became a man, not ceasing to be God . The incarnation of Christ was accomplished by the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, so the Holy Virgin as a Virgin was before conception, and in conception, and after conception, and in birth itself, the Virgin remained. The word humanizing was added so that no one would think that the Son of God accepted one flesh or body, but that in Him they would recognize the perfect person, consisting of body and soul. Jesus Christ was crucified for us - He delivered us from sin, curses and death by His death on the Cross.
The words under Pontius Pilate indicate the time when He was crucified. Pontius Pilate is the Roman ruler of Judea, who was subjugated by the Romans. The word of the sufferer is added to show that His crucifixion was not one type of suffering and death, as some false teachers said, but genuine suffering and death. He suffered and died not by the Divine, but by man, and not because he could not escape suffering, but because he wanted to suffer. The word buried confirms that He really died and was resurrected, for His enemies even put a guard on the sepulcher and sealed the sepulcher. And risen on the third day according to the Scriptures - the fifth member of the Creed teaches that our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power of His Godhead, rose from the dead, as it is written about him by the prophets and in psalms, and that He rose in the same body in which he was born and died . The words of Scripture mean that Jesus Christ died and rose again exactly as prophetically written in the books of the Old Testament. And ascended into heaven, and the Father's seated right hand, these words are borrowed from the Holy Scripture: He descended, He is also ascended above all heaven in order to fill everything (Eph. 4, 10). We have such a High Priest who sat at the right hand of the throne of greatness in heaven (Heb. 8, 1).The words graying at the right hand, that is, sitting on the right side, must be understood spiritually. They mean that Jesus Christ has the same power and glory with God the Father. And the packs to come with the glory of judging the living and the dead, There will be no end to the Kingdom - the Holy Scripture speaks of the coming coming of Christ as follows: This Jesus, who has ascended from heaven to you, will come in the same way as you saw Him ascending into heaven (Acts 1 , eleven).
The Holy Spirit is called the Lord, because he, like the Son of God, is the true God. The Holy Spirit is called the Life-giving, because He, along with God the Father and the Son, gives creatures life, but also spiritual people: if anyone is not born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God (John 3, 5). The Holy Spirit comes from the Father, as Jesus Christ Himself says: When the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that comes from the Father, He will testify of Me (John 15, 26). The Holy Spirit befits worship and glorification, equal with the Father and the Son - Jesus Christ commanded to baptize in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28, 19). The Symbol of Faith says that the Holy Spirit spoke through the prophets - this is based on the words of the apostle Peter: the prophecy was never uttered according to the will of man, but the holy men of God spoke it, being moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1, 21). Communion with the Holy Spirit can be made through sacraments and fervent prayer: if you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, all the more Heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him (Luke 11, 13).
The Church is one, because One body and one spirit, as you are called to the same hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all of us (Ephesus . 4, 4–6). Holy Church, because Christ loved the Church and betrayed Himself for it, to sanctify it, having cleansed the bathhouse with water by means of a word, to present it to Himself as a glorious Church without a spot, or vice, or anything like that, but that it should be holy and Immaculate (Eph. 5, 25–27). The Cathedral Church, or, which is the same, catholic, or Ecumenical, because it is not limited to any place, neither time, nor people, but includes true believers of all places, times and peoples. The Apostolic Church, because it continuously and invariably from the time of the apostles preserves both the teaching and the succession of the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the consecrated ordination. The true Church is also called the Orthodox, or the Faithful.
Baptism is a Sacrament in which a believer, upon threefold immersion of the body in water, with the invocation of God the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit dies for a carnal, sinful life and is reborn from the Holy Spirit into a spiritual, holy life. Baptism is one because it is a spiritual birth, and a person will be born once, therefore, he will be baptized once.
The resurrection of the dead is the action of the omnipotence of God, according to which all the bodies of dead people, united again with their souls, will come to life and will be spiritual and immortal.
The life of the next century is the life that will be after the Resurrection of the dead and the Universal Judgment of Christ.
The word Amen, completing the Creed, means "Truly so." The Church has been keeping the Creed since apostolic times and will keep it forever. No one can ever diminish or add anything to this Symbol.
Prayers for Lent
From year to year, the Slavic custom of fasting finds new followers. People want to be cleansed by the rule both spiritually and bodily. But without prayer and repentance, fasting becomes just a diet. Corporal fasting and prayer, without spiritual fasting — good deeds, correcting one’s heart, getting rid of bad habits in words and deeds –– brings little to save the soul, and can be spiritually harmful, even if a Slavic person abstains from food is imbued with a consciousness of his own superiority from the knowledge that he is fasting.
True fasting is associated with prayer (it is not necessary to use the Church Slavonic language according to the prayer book or akathistik, read the prayer in your own words without translation), repentance. And at the time after fasting, in the Easter season, morning prayer consists of the Clock and the Canon of Easter. Here is the main prayer of the Mother of God.
It is worthy to be truly blessed with the Virgin Mary, the Most Holy and Immaculate, and the Mother of God. The most honest Cherub and the most glorious without comparison, Seraphim, without the decay of the God of Word, who gave birth, who is the great Virgin of God is great.
Prayer 1, St. Macarius the Great
God, cleanse me from the sinful, as if I had done good before You, but deliver me from the evil one, and Thy will be done in me, openly condemned my unworthy mouth and praise Your holy name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever till the end of time. Amen.
Transfer: God, cleanse me, the sinner, since I never did good before Thee, deliver me from the evil, treacherous (the name of the devil is in the Church Slavonic way), and may Thy will be in me, give me unreasonably (with impunity) open my unworthy lips and to praise Your holy name, the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer for good luck
Luck - success in everything here and now ?. In fact, the Lord grants us His goodness and mercy not as “luck”, but as what we need right now for happiness. Think about what the will of God and His goodness, reading prayer morning, the morning prayer itself ... The most “strong prayer” is the Sacrament of the Sacrament in the Liturgy in any language without translation, this is an entry into the Orthodox Church, an introduction to the grace of God.
From the rapturous dream, I thank You, the Holy Trinity, that many of Your joy and longsuffering did not anger on me, lazy and sinful, I felt more unhappiness, but I felt more and more. and glorify thy power. And now enlighten my thoughts of the thoughts, open my mouth to learn your word, and understand your commandments, and do yourselves, and give unto you, there is a reminder centuries. Amen.
How to pray in the morning?
The recitation of any prayer must comply with the rules defined by church mandates and charters that have evolved over the centuries. When choosing a petition text, consider:
- The source. It is recommended to choose texts from prayer books with original hymns described by the Saints and in which there are no dogmatic errors or incorrect moral attitudes,
- A place. It is preferable to read serious prayers in the walls of a church or temple during the morning service. You need to pray at home in front of the icons,
- The right attitude. The result of the prayer should be obedience and humility, the entrustment of our fate and spirit to the Lord, but not vanity or selfishness,
- Emotions In the process of litigation, excessive emotionality should be avoided: tears, screams, ecstasy, and tenderness for what is happening. Such states lead one astray and interfere with the true feeling of righteous prayer,
- Destination. You need to know to whom this or that prayer is dedicated. Do not leave your words without a recipient. Be sure to contact the Lord, Saints, Mother of God,
- The nature of the prayer. It is important to remember that praise should not include instructions to God; you pray for help and blessing. Also, do not be happy for other people's troubles or ask other people to intrigue. You can start reading the sacred texts only with a pure heart,
- Meaning. Without the meaning embedded in the text of the prayer, there can be no result. Just thinking about the essence of the petition, you can begin to pray.
Prayer for the preservation of the family and admonition of the husband
Right prayer is recited in the right mood and with bright sincere feelings. Before this, it is recommended to be alone and in silence in order to gather your thoughts and tune in your upcoming fellowship with the Lord. Having concentrated, you can start reading, and then, remaining in a prayer position: standing or on your knees with folded hands, it is necessary to comprehend the read address. As a final step, you should overshadow yourself with a sign of the Cross.
Prayer 2, St. Macarius the Great
Having brought up a sleep, I bring the midnight song to Ti, Savior, and falling, crying to Ti: don’t let us sleep in sinful death, but rest on me, crucified by the will, and speed up the rest of me in laziness, and save me in the coming and prayer, and by in the sleep of the night, raise up my day sinless, Christ God, and save me.
Transfer: Having risen after a dream, at midnight I offer you, the Savior, a song and, falling at your feet, I exclaim to you: do not let me fall asleep in a sinful death, but have mercy on me, voluntarily crucified, soon lift me up, lying carelessly, and save me, standing before you in prayer. And after a night's sleep, send me a clear and sinless day, Christ God, and save me.
Prayers for Beginners
An important point for beginners of the prayer morning is at least a short morning church address to the goodness and power of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord - this is a great protection for every person. The beginning prayer is not a “left” text, but an appeal to the Cross, its interpretation is simple. This prayer for mercy is also an Old Believer. After all, the Old Believer theme appeared in the middle of the 17th century, when the Russian Orthodox Church underwent the reform of Patriarch Nikon, and now it is just a left branch of Orthodoxy associated with a slightly different fulfillment of liturgical directions, different Old Believer traditions. And the Church Slavonic language for prayer utensils is used both in Old Believer texts and in Orthodoxy without translation. Morning Old Believers and Orthodox prayers for goodness are no different in interpretation. Old Believers are baptized in the same way - not with their left, but with their right hands. Next is the text of the Symbol of Faith.
I believe in the one God of the Father, the Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. And in the one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only Begotten, even from the Father of the Nativity, forever before all ages, the Light from the Light, the God is true from God is true, is not unanimated. We are glad for the man and for our sake of salvation came down from heaven and incarnating from the Holy Spirit and Mary the Virgin and humanizing. But we were crucified under us at Pontistem Pilate, and the one who suffered and was buried. And he was resurrected on the third day according to the Scriptures. And above to heaven, and sitting at the right hand of the Father. And the packs of people to come with the grave judgment of the living and the dead, His kingdom will not end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of Life, Already from the Father proceeding, Along with the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified, with the words of the prophets. In one holy, catholic and apostolic church. I confess baptism for the remission of sins. Of the resurrection of the dead, and of life forever. Amen.
Prayer 3, St. Macarius the Great
Vladyka Chelovechelobche, I am running to you from sleep, and I am striving for Your mercy and praying to You: help us for all time, in all things, and deliver me from all worldly evil things and the devilish sorrow, and save me, and lead into your kingdom everlasting. Thou art my Creator and to all good, the Provider and Giver, all the hope of You for me, and I offer you glory, now and evermore and forever and ever. Amen.
In this prayer, we express our readiness and desire before God, upon awakening from sleep, to do the tasks assigned to each God, and ask Him for help in these matters, we also ask that He will save us from sins and bring us into the Kingdom of Heaven. Prayer ends with praise to God.
Transfer: To you, the Lord the Man-lover, having risen after sleep, I hurry and, according to Your mercy, take up affairs pleasing to You.I pray to you: help me always and in everything, and deliver me from all evil in the world and from devilish action, and save me, and bring into your eternal kingdom. For You are my Creator and all good, Source and Submitter, all my hope in You, and I send praise to You now, forever and ever. Amen.
Having risen from sleep, we fall down Ty, Better, and an angelic song cry Ty, Stronger: Holy, Holy, Holy Thou, God, have mercy on the Virgin Mary.
Glory: From my bed and my sleep God raised me up, Lord, enlighten my mind and heart, and open my mouth, in the hedgehog Petya Ty, Holy Trinity: Holy, Holy, Holy Thou, God, have mercy on the Virgin Mary.
And now: Suddenly the Judge will come, and every act will be exposed, but we call in fear at midnight: Holy, Holy, Holy, God, have mercy on the Virgin Mary.
Lord have mercy (12 times)
Troparion - a short song in which the deeds of God or His saints are glorified. Trinity - referring to the Holy Trinity, addressed to Her, dedicated to Her.
See: Dictionary of Orthodox hymnographic terms (meaning of the words akathist, voice, ikos, kondak, canon, troparium, etc.)
We fall Ti - we fall at Your feet. Better, Stronger - the vocative case of the words Good, Strong when turning to God.
Odr - bed, bed. INozdvigl me “You raised me.” Ostne - the mouth. In the hedgehog Petit Ty - in order to chant you.
Sometime - everyone. Fear - in fear, from fear. Are calling - here: yes we cry, and exclaim (in the Greek text of the prayer literally: exclaim).
Each of these troparia ends with a triple praise of the Holy Trinity - a song taken from the Angels - and an appeal for clemency by the prayers of the Most Holy Theotokos.
Risen from sleep, we fall Ti, Better ... As soon as we wake up from a dream, we turn, and we must certainly turn first, to the Triune God with angelic blessings and for the sake of the intercession of the Mother of God for us, we ask for mercy: Holy, Holy, Holy, God bless the Virgin Mary.
From the bed and the dream he raised me up, O Lord ... After sleep, our mind, heart, and mouth are lazy towards God and turn to worldly things - and we ask that the Lord Himself enlighten our hearts and minds and open our mouth to angelic blessing and have mercy on the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos: Holy, Holy, Holy Thou, God, have mercy on the Virgin Mary.
Suddenly the Judge will come ... We recall the terrible hour when the Heavenly Judge, the Lord Jesus Christ, comes to the earth for the second time in a human form — comes to judge people for their deeds, which can no longer be hidden: all truth and untruth will be revealed, and not only to the omniscient God, but and for all people, then each of us will see and recognize all the deeds of our neighbor, we will also know our deeds, which we already forgot. The hour will be terrifying, because there will be nothing for us to justify before God, only the hope remains for the intercession of the holy Angels and the Mother of God, to the intercession of which we resort: Holy, Holy, Holy, God bless the Mother of God.
The interpretation of the hope of God's help is not weakness, but the true trust in God's goodness through humility and understanding that we ourselves can and can do only part of the work on this day of our lives. Tchaikovsky also understood this. The great composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky wrote a number of works specifically on church prayers in the morning, their texts on the prayer book and akathist with the hope of the goodness of the Lord.
Lord, also, through your great mercy and great bounties of yours, thou hast given me,to your servant, having passed the time of sowing without adversity, to pass away from all evil is opposed, You yourself, Sovereign, all kinds of Creatures, have mercy on me in your true light and enlightened heart, to make you ever again. Amen.
Prayer of the 4th, St. Macarius the Great
Lord, I have given Thy much of Your goodness and Thy great bounties to you, Thy servant, that I have passed the time sowing without adversity, it is disgusting to pass away from all evil. and forever and ever. Amen.
Transfer: Lord, who, by His abundant kindness and great mercy, saved your servant in the past tense of this night and repelled any attack of the devil, you yourself, Lord, creator of the whole world, will honor me in the light of your truth, with your enlightened heart, to fulfill your will, now and always and forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer Our Father
The prayer “Our Father (Father)” in Orthodoxy is also called morning or evening. In the mornings, we read the Church text of Our Father (Father) as a request for everything for this day, according to a prayer book or akathistik, we can also memorize it.
O our Father, even as you are in heaven! Thy name be holy, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us our daily bread today, and leave us our debt, just as we leave our debt, and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Psalm 50th, the penitent
Have mercy on me, God, by Your great mercy, and by the multitude of Your bounties, cleanse my iniquity. Most washed me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. As I know my iniquity, and my sin before me is I take out. You have sinned for the One, and created the evil one before Thee, as if you were justified in Your word, and conquer, always judge Ty. I am conceived in lawlessness, and in mother’s sons I will bear my mother. Thou art loved the truth; Thou art revealed the unknown and secret wisdom of Thou art. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed, washed me, and more than snow I will whitewash. Give my hearing joy and joy, the bones of humility will rejoice. Turn Thy face away from my sin, and cleanse all my iniquities. Build your heart purely in me, God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb. Thou shalt not cast me away from Thy face, and thy Holy Spirit not be taken from me. Give me the joy of thy salvation, and establish me by the Spirit of the Lord. I will teach the wicked in thy way, and wickedness will turn to you. Deliver me from the blood, God, God of my salvation; my tongue will rejoice at Thy truth. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare thy praise. As if I would have been thrilled if you had sacrificed, I did not give the burnt offerings for good. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a heart broken and humble, God will not abase. God bless Thy grace of Zion, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built up. Then bless the sacrifice of truth, the offering and the burnt offering will then lay on the altar of your calves.
Bounty - generous mercy, mercy, compassion, pity. Most - especially, more than anything (more - more). Yako - here: for, because. Take out - always, at all times, unceasingly. Always judge Ti - when you judge (always - when). Se bo - behold, verily (lo, lo - for, because, in combination). Thy unknown and secret wisdom was revealed by me - the unknown (innermost) and secret (that is, the innermost secret) of Your wisdom You have revealed to me. Hyssop - grass used as a sprinkler. Dasi - give. Humble bones - broken, broken (as we say about illness or severe fatigue). Build up - create, do. The womb - here: the innermost, innermost, invisible depth of soul. Ostne - lips, mouth (dual from oral - lip), mouth - mouth. I wish - if. Ubo - here: verily. Burnt offering, or burnt out - a sacrifice in which the animal was burned without a trace on the altar. Zion - the mountain in Jerusalem on which the house of David was built, a symbol of the Church.
This psalm was compiled by the prophet David when he repented of a great sin - that he killed the pious Uriah the Hittite to take possession of his wife Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11-12).
The Psalm expresses deep regret for the committed sin and an earnest prayer for forgiveness and shows all people the saving path of repentance, which is why it is often read in the Church during worship. All of us guilty of various sins should pronounce it as often as possible, delving into every word.
Have mercy on me, God, by Your great mercy, and by the multitude of Your bounties, cleanse my iniquity. Sin is great, therefore the prophet asks God and great mercy. Only God's ineffable mercies can clear grave lawlessness.
Most washed me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. The Lord has already announced to David through the prophet Nathan that He will take away his sins for repentance (2 Sam. 12:13) - but David prays that God will completely cleanse him of sinful impurities. So we, having received the remission of our sins in the Sacrament of Penance, must nevertheless constantly cry out to the Lord to destroy the very root of sin in us.
As I know my iniquity, and my sin before me is I take out. Have mercy, Lord, cleanse me! Sin weighs on me, I can’t forget it, I see it day and night in my conscience, which constantly worries my soul.
You have sinned for the One, and you have created the evil one before Thee, as long as you are justified in Your word, and conquer, always judge Ti (in the Russian translation of the psalm: so that you are righteous in your sentence and clean in your court). Not a human, but God's judgment is represented by a prophet (David is a king, and he is not afraid of human judgment). Hiding lawlessness from people, you cannot hide it from the Supreme Judge, who sees everything secret, before God's truth our guile is exposed - our untruth and wrongness, and all our excuses are powerless.
I am conceived in lawlessness, and in mother’s sons I will bear my mother. All of us, the descendants of Adam, are conceived in sins by inheriting original sin. We beseech God for forgiveness, presenting to Him our natural tendency toward sin.
Behold, thou art loved the truth ... (pay attention to the word esi - it indicates the 2nd person: behold, you have loved the truth). You, Lord, Himself are Truth (I am the way and the truth and the life - John 14: 6). You love the truth and want us to abide in the truth. And I confess that You Love the truth and hate lies, so I confess and acknowledge before You that you have sinned.
Thy unknown and secret wisdom was revealed by me - the unknown (innermost) and secret (that is, the innermost secret) of Your wisdom You have revealed to me. (King David speaks of his prophetic gift, that God revealed the inexplicable secrets of His Providence to the Holy Spirit, but even every Christian receives the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Sacraments of the Church and, through the teaching of the Church, touches the innermost secrets of the Divine Providence, and each of us is told the unknown and secret wisdom of God: we have been taught true faith, we have been shown the path to the kingdom of heaven.) How did I respond to these blessed gifts? A sin!
Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed, washed me, and more than snow I will whitewash. Here is the hope to completely get rid of sin and be filled with joy. To Hyssop the prophet likens the action of the Holy Spirit, purifying all filth in us. Saint Athanasius the Great sees in this image a cover-up image of purification in the Sacraments by the Blood of Christ - which alone can completely purify and make whiter than snow.
Give my hearing joy and joy ... Give me, to my ears, the gracious message of mercy, make me glad and exhilarate!
Humble bones will rejoice. The committed sin destroys not only the soul, but also the body: under the weight of sin the bones are weakened, the bones are humbled, but when the sin is forgiven and the unbearable burden is removed from the conscience - then the whole body is filled with joy (remember how sometimes we sigh with deep relief and straighten our shoulders) .
Turn Thy face away from my sin, and cleanse all my iniquities - exterminate from the book of my life.
Build your heart purely in me, God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb. Raise a fallen soul into primal beauty, destroying in me the impurity of ancestral sin. Give me the grace of righteousness! "Pure heart, I believe, for one who not only does not have anxiety and is burdened by any passion, but does not even think about anything bad or worldly, even if he wanted to, and he keeps one memory of God with irrepressible love. For the eye of the soul, the mind, when nothing interferes with his contemplation, sees God purely in a pure light. "
Rev. Simeon the New Theologian
Thou shalt not cast me away from Thy face, and thy Holy Spirit not be taken from me. Sin rejects from God, from the Source of Life - and we pray that we do not find ourselves in the pitch darkness where the face of God is not visible, the Holy Spirit every soul lives on the chants of the Church - we pray that He, the Life Giver, will not be taken from us .
Give me the joy of thy salvation, and establish me by the Spirit of the Lord. Wait, bring me back the joy that I enjoyed when I was your guardian, give me the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Have mercy on me, Lord, over my misery, in which I have fallen, having lost Your grace, and again grant Thy grace in me. By the Spirit of the Lord (Ps. 50:14), by the spirit of Your strength, strengthen me so that I can resist the temptations inflicted by the devil and the temptations arising from my fallen nature. "
Rev. Paisius Velichkovsky
"Ambitiousness", v. 5
I will teach the wicked in thy way, and wickedness will turn to you. When You deliver me from sin and give me the Holy Spirit - I can once again teach the criminals to walk in Your ways, ”says David, his chosen one, to the Lord. And for us, this vow contains the same idea as in the prayer of the Lord’s prayer: Hallowed be Your name in us, Lord, for if You cleanse our sins and we will live by Your grace according to Your will, then we will be able to live our own life to preach Your righteousness and turn the hearts of people to You.
Deliver me from the blood, God, God of my salvation ... The Prophet David asks God to save him from the shed blood of Uriah, in which he is drowning (as if from a blood - a more accurate translation of the words of the psalm). The words God my salvation are equivalent to the words God my Savior — an appeal to the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ. With these words of the prophet we appeal to the Savior for deliverance from the murderous action of our sins.
My tongue will rejoice in thy truth. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare thy praise. My mouth is now made sin. Having received the remission of sins, I will not be silent, but I will testify of You, chant and glorify Your mercies.
As if I would have been thrilled if you had sacrificed, I had given you slaughter: don’t please the burnt offerings. You, Lord, have canceled bylaw sacrifices that cannot grant absolution: the external sacrifice, without the participation of the heart, is made, does not matter.
A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a heart broken and humble, God will not abase. The sacrifice that You loved is repentance and heartbreak, hearts of the broken and humble You will not despise, God (Russian translation). That's who I look at: the humble and afflicted in spirit and trembling before My word, says the Lord through the prophet Isaiah (66: 2). Wed another psalm: The Lord is close to a brokenhearted and humble in spirit (Ps. 33:19).
"True prayer is the voice of true repentance. When prayer is not animated by repentance, then it does not fulfill (its purpose, then God does not favor it. He will not humiliate the spirit of the broken, the heart is broken and humble."
God bless Thy grace of Zion, and may the walls of Jerusalem be burned. King David prays not only for himself, but also for his city and people, and asks the Lord to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem shaken by his sin. But Zion and Jerusalem also depict the entire Church in scripture.
Then bless the sacrifice of truth, an offering and a burnt offering, then they will lay the calves on the altar. The Psalm concludes with a sacrifice to God, made in the purity of the heart and righteousness, having cleansed the soul by repentance, we will rush to God with our whole being and surrender to Him as a whole, our whole heart, our whole life - this will be our “burnt offering”.
Saint Ignatius Brianchaninov
Prayer of the 5th, St. Basil the Great
Lord Almighty, God of strength and all flesh, in the highest living and humble, look upon the hearts and wombs, and foresee the innermost people of man who I foreknow, the Beginning and Subordinate to the Light, but He has no blessing, or offerings, overshadowed Himself, Immortal to the King, accept prayer ours, even now, on Your many bounties is insolently bold, from the filthy to You we are verbal, and leave us our sins, even in deed, and in word, and in thought, knowledge or ignorance, that we have sinned, and cleansed of any filth of flesh and spirit .And grant us, with a vigorous heart and sober thought, all our real lives to pass away, waiting for the coming of the light and revealed day of Your Only Begotten Son, the Lord and God and Our Savior Jesus Christ, the Judge will come all the same with glory, it will be convenient to give according to his deed, but not fallen and lazy, but awake and exalted in doing the rite, prepare, in joy and the Divine hall of glory, we shall bring him together, even when they are celebrating the voice of unceasing, and the indescribable sweetness of your sighted persons with indescribable kindness. Thou art the true Light, enlighten and sanctify all, and Th sings all creature forever and ever. Amen.
Transfer: Lord Almighty, God of ethereal forces and all flesh, living on the heights of heaven, living and looking around the valleys of the earth, observing hearts and thoughts and clearly knowing the secrets of men, the Beginning and Eternal Light, Which has no changes in strength and does not leave a shaded place in its path. You yourself, the Immortal King, receive our prayers, which we are currently hoping for the abundance of Your compassion, bring to you from unclean lips, and forgive us our sins committed by our deed, word and thought, consciously or unconsciously, and cleanse us from all impurity of the flesh and spirit. And give us with an awake heart and sober thought to live the whole night of this earthly life here, waiting for the coming of a bright and glorious day of the second coming of Your Only Begotten Son, the Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, when the general Judge comes with glory to give to everyone according to his deeds. May He find us not lying and sleepy, but awake and raised in the fulfillment of His commandments, and ready to enter with Him into the joy and the Divine hall of His glory, where the unceasing voices of triumphs and the ineffable joy of seeing the unspeakable beauty of Your face. For You are the true Light, enlightening and sanctifying the whole world, and You sing the whole creation forever and ever. Amen.
Sins are a deed - when this deed is contrary to the commandment of God. For example, if a person indulges in overeating, drunkenness, goodies, he sins against the commandment of God "Do not make yourself an idol and any likeness." Sins by the word - when this word is contrary to the will of God. For example, idle talk, indecent words and songs are sins by word. Sins in a word - slander of the neighbor, slander, condemnation. I think sins are wishes, thoughts, contrary to love for our neighbor, when we act against the commandment of God “Do not desire anything that belongs to Your neighbor”. These sins are as serious as sins by deed and word. Sins by knowledge are those that we do, knowing that they are forbidden by the law of God, make them according to our passions in pride, malice, laziness, etc., and justify ourselves with false arguments. Sins of ignorance come from the weakness of human nature. Who will discern their errors? - says the prophet David (Psalm 18, 13) and adds a prayer: Cleanse me from my secret, that is, from sins, through weakness and ignorance made by me, which either are unknown to me, or which I do not remember, or which I do not even consider for sins .
Muslim prayer, of course, differs from Christian prayer or akathistic. Suffice it to say, what time is the morning prayer for Muslims in the afternoon - in each region, at different times of the year, morning prayers are performed at different times. You need to know that a Muslim worships Christ, but as a prophet, not as God, but as the Father. And there is no reason to war with Muslims and Christians.
Amen.
Prayer 9th, to the Guardian Angel
Saint Angela, stand before my self-reproached soul and my passionate life, do not leave me a sinner, back down from me for my intemperance. Do not give a place to the crafty demon to possess this violence of my mortal body, strengthen my poor and thin hand and guide me to the path of salvation. Forgive me, the holy Angel of God, the keeper and patron of my body and soul, who I repented, forgive me all, since I insulted you all the days of my belly, and as long as we sinned this night, covered me for the present day, and save me from any temptation of the opposite and I’m angry God in no gress, and praying for me to the Lord, that he may establish me in his shrine, and show me worthy of his servant goodness. Amen.
At baptism, God gives every Christian a guardian angel who invisibly guards a person from all evil. Therefore, we must every day ask the Angel to save and have mercy on us.
Transfer: Holy Angel, set to preserve my poor soul and unhappy life, do not leave me sinful, and do not step back from me for my intemperance, do not give the evil demon the opportunity to subjugate me to himself with the predominance of this mortal body, take my unhappy and lowered hand tightly and bring me out to the path of salvation. O holy angel of God, the keeper and patron of my poor soul and body, forgive me everything that I offended you all the days of my life, and if I sinned last night, protect me on this day, and save me from all temptation enemy, so that I do not anger God with any sin, and pray for me to the Lord that He will establish me in His fear and make me a slave worthy of His mercy. Amen.
Mother's prayer for the blessing of children
Prayer is an additional, Christian medicine for health, for example, when a child has a fang cut, a canine tooth that is a lion. But at the same time, do not forget to follow the doctor’s prescription, especially for childhood diseases associated with fang teeth on the left. And if you give the blessing of the mother - this will be an additional protection for the child in everything.
Often they are looking for morning prayer for a child’s fang according to a prayer book or akathistik. Fang tooth is a difficult test for family and child. Every mother will worry. Morning prayer call for a fanged tooth and blessing a child, especially if the fang hurts, which the lion is very important.
When reading a prayer for the healing of a canine tooth pain according to a Christian prayer book or akathistic, consider how much it is necessary to treat a child. After all, prayer is not a conspiracy about a canine tooth, it is a request to God, it does not matter, in your own words, according to a prayer book or akathistik, which can be a morning call or an evening call, to admonish you, to send a correct treatment for a canine tooth.
If the fanged tooth is cut at an unfavorable time, still find at least a morning moment and go with the child to the doctor who will deal with the fang.
Save, Lord, and have mercy on my children (their names), parents, brotherhood and sisters, and my relatives for their lust, and all the nearness of my family, and my friends, and give them Your peace and premium good. (Bow)
Prayer 10th, to the Blessed Virgin Mary
My Most Holy Lady, the Mother of God, Your saints and omnipotent supplications otzhenya from me, the humble and cursed Thy servant, despondency, oblivion, unreasonableness, negligence, and all my nasty, crafty and blasphemous thoughts from my cursed mind and darkened. And extinguish the flame of my passions, as I am poor and repented. And deliver me from many and fierce memories and enterprises, and from all the acts of evil freedom. Thou art blessed from all generations, and Your honorable name is glorified forever and ever. Amen.
Transfer: My Most Holy Lady, Mother of God, with your holy and omnipotent prayers, drive away from me, your humble and unfortunate servant, despondency, oblivion, unreasoning, negligence, remove all bad, evil and blasphemous thoughts from my cursed heart and my darkened mind and quench for I am miserable and unhappy, deliver me from many destructive memories and thoughts, and free me from all evil deeds, for all the generations bless you and Your pure name is glorified forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer 2 of the same saint
Having risen from sleep, I bring the midnight song to Ti, Savior, and giving the cry of Ti: do not let me sleep in sinful death, but rest on me, crucified by the will, and rest me in laziness, and save me in the coming and prayer, and in the sleep of the night radiate my day sinless, Christ God, and save me.
Do not give me - do not give me. Bring me - literally: take pity on me. Crucified by will - voluntarily crucified.
Let us cite another statement by the Monk Makarios the Great:
“Look into the clever essence of the soul, and do not look deeply. The immortal soul is a precious vessel. Look how great heaven and earth are, and God did not bless them, but only about you. Look at your nobleness and dignity, because there are no Angels sent, but the Lord Himself came as an intercessor for you, to call on the dead, declared, to return to you the original image of pure Adam. God Himself came to intercede for you and save you from death. Be firm and imagine what kind of providence you are. "
The end of the morning prayers
It is fitting to truly bless thee, Mother of God, Blessed and Immaculate, and Mother of our God. The most honest Cherub and the most glorious, without comparison, the Seraph, without the destruction of the God of the Word, who gave birth to the Mother of God, We magnify.
Transfer: It is truly worthy to glorify you, the Mother of God, always blessed and immaculate, and the Mother of our God. You are worthy of worship more than the Cherubim and, in Your glory, incomparably higher than the Seraphs, You gave birth to the Word God (the Son of God) without disease, and as the true Virgin Mary, we glorify you.
In this prayer, we praise the Mother of God, as the Mother of our God, always blissful and immaculate, and magnify Her, saying that She surpasses the highest Angels with Her honor (honesty) and glory (glorious), that is, the Mother of God and Cherubim, that is, the Mother of God in her own perfection is above all - not only people, but also holy angels. She is without disease, miraculously from the Holy Spirit gave birth to Jesus Christ, who, having become a human being from Her, is at the same time the Son of God, descended from heaven, and therefore She is the true Virgin Mary.
Prayer of the 3rd, of the same saint
Vladyka Chelovechelobche, I am running up to you from sleep, and I am laboring in Thy mercy, and praying to You: help us for all time, in all things, and deliver me from all worldly evil things and the devil's confession, and save me, and lead into your kingdom everlasting. You are the bearer of my Creator and of all good, the Provider and Provider, but all my hope about You, and I offer you glory, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.
I come running - I come, looking for help, I ask for help. I am laboring with Your mercy - that is, by Your mercy. Devilish haste - promoting the devil, the devilish temptation (haste - help in achieving something). The Thinker - The Thinker. But all my hope about you is in you — all my hope.
To you, Vladyka Chelovechelobche ... I am resorting ... Although the verb to resort to has been preserved in the modern language, to resort (to resort to decisive measures), like the related word refuge, is the meaning of the word, its internal form usually eludes our consciousness. The children's perception of the word to resort to how to resort is completely fair. Just as a child always fears the mother’s bosom and the protection of his mother’s hands, so we resort to prayer under the protection of the Lord, His Mother, and His Saints. Recall the image of a medieval city - a space fenced with stone walls. The city fence very soon began not to accommodate residents who were forced to settle outside, outside the walls (suburban residents). But when the troops of the enemy and the enemy were approaching, the suburban inhabitants fled (often burning their houses) to the city-city - a refuge, a refuge, which they looked with great hope. This image leads us to God and the Blessed Virgin Mary: They are our refuge from any enemy invasion. The well-known image of the Mother of God “The Indestructible Wall” (in the church of St. Sophia of Kiev) embodies this very symbol.
... And deliver me from all worldly evil things and the devilish offense, and save me, and bring into your eternal kingdom. A line from the prayer of St. Macarius the Great is supplemented by the words of his teachings. "The soul, really striving for the Lord, completely and completely extends its love to Him and, as much as there is strength, is attached to Him alone by its will, and in this it receives the help of grace, denies itself and does not follow the desires of its mind, because by reason inseparable from us and deceiving us, he walks slyly, so that as soon as the soul has loved the Lord, he is cleansed from the nets by his own faith and great zeal, and together with help from above, he is made equal to the Eternal Kingdom and, having truly loved it, by his own with his will and with the help of the Lord, he will not lose his eternal life. "
“I tell you that all people desire and long for it: fornicators, tax collectors, and unjust people would like to receive the kingdom so easily, without labor and feats. For this, many trials, sorrows, struggles and sweat shedding, so that those who truly from all wills and with all their strength even to death loved the one Lord and with such love for Him already had nothing else longed for were made explicit. Therefore, in truth, they enter the Kingdom of Heaven, having renounced themselves, according to the Lord to him, and more than his breath, having loved the one Lord, why his high love will be rewarded with high heavenly gifts. "
Thou art ... for all goodness, the Thinker and the Giver ... The Lord is called the Thinker here: the One who creates and directs everything in the world with His thought that outstrips and determines everything that exists. Let us recall the words of the Bible: What you thought was accomplished: what you determined, it appeared and said: here I am (Jude 9: 5-6). More often we use the noun Providence (sometimes in the Slavic text - Providence) - "the ceaseless action of the omnipotence, wisdom and goodness of God, with which God preserves the being and strength of creatures, directs them to good goals, helps all good, and the evil arising through removal from good suppresses or corrects and refers to the good consequences "(" The Extensive Christian Catechism "by St. Filaret of Moscow). In secular dictionaries of the modern Russian language we can find a word of the same meaning and very similar form - providence, cf. Church Slavonic: looking (another word of the same meaning).
Prayer of the 4th, the same saint
Lord, I have given Thy much of Your goodness and Thy great bounties to you, Thy servant, the time that has passed by me sowing without adversity is repugnant from all evil, You yourself, Sovereign, of all Creativity, make me your true will to do Thy truth, Thou both forever and ever. Amen.
Misfortune is trouble, temptation. From all evil disgusted - preserved from all evil. All Creatives - Creator of all things (vocative). All sorts of expressions, all creatures are used in the language of the Church to denote the entire world created by God - earthly and heavenly, visible and invisible.
Prayer 5th, St. Basil the Great
Lord Almighty, God of Forces and all flesh, in the highest living and humble, look upon the hearts and wombs, and foresee the innermost of mankind since I foreknow, Beginnerless and Inherent to the Light, We have no use for it, or applications, Itself, Immortal Tsar, accept our prayer , even now, on Your many bounties, I am boldly bold, from the filthy to You, we are oral, and leave us our sins, even by deed, and by word, and thought, knowledge, or ignorance, that we have sinned, and cleansed of any filth of flesh and spirit .And grant us, with a vigorous heart and sober mind, all our real lives to pass away, awaiting the coming of the light and manifest Day of Our Son, the Lord and God and Our Savior Jesus Christ, the Judge will come more and less gloriously, be sure to give according to his deed, but not fallen and lazy, but awake and exalted in doing the rite, prepare, in joy and the Divine hall of glory, we shall bring him together, even when they are celebrating the voice of unceasing, and the indescribable sweetness of your sighted persons with indescribable kindness. Thou art the true Light, enlighten and sanctify all, and Th sings all creature forever and ever. Amen.
God of Forces and all flesh - God of the heavenly Forces without bodies and all flesh. In the highest living - living in heaven, on the heights of heaven. For the humble one, (more correctly, for the humble one) - the one who looks (bowing eyes) for the humble, lower, earthly. Test hearts and womb - observing innermost thoughts. The confidential of man is the foreknowledge - clearly knowing the secrets of man. The Inferring is eternal. It is worthless for Negor to have a change, or an arrangement, overshadowing - Which is unchanged, does not fade and does not leave anything obscured (change - overshadowing, shadowing). Already here: which. On many of Your bounty they dare - hoping for the abundance of Your compassion. The real life of the night is the night of the local, present (earthly) life. Awaiting the coming of a light day and a manifest day - awaiting a bright and glorious day (Second) coming. Stinker - in him (on this day). It is convenient to everyone. By deed - by deeds, according to deeds. Not fallen and lazy - not lying and sleepy. Prepare to the promised - we will be ready, You will find us ready. Idezh - where. Kindness is beauty, goodness. All - all that exists, the whole world. The creature is creation.
In this prayer there are several expressions from the Holy Scriptures, the understanding and correct translation of which are very important.
In the highest, live and humble yourself. In this biblical expression the heavenly heights are contrasted with the earthly valleys: Who is the Lord our God? On the high living, and on the humble, contemplate in heaven and on earth (Psalm 112: 5-6, in the Russian translation of the psalm: Who, like the Lord our God, Who, dwelling on high, bends to look upon heaven and earth) . The same expression in Psalm 137: 6: As the Lord is high, and the humble one watches, and the news from afar is high.
Negogee has a change, or overshadowing. These words are from the Epistle of Ap. Jacob: Every gift is good and every gift is perfect from above, go down from the Father of lights, He has no need to change or offer a wall (James 1:17, in the Russian translation: Every good deed and every perfect gift comes down from above the Father of lights, Whose no change and not a shadow of change). The Slavic translation of the words of the apostle is somewhat incomprehensible, and the Russian is not entirely accurate (the words change and change seem to repeat each other). With the words of the proposal, the oceanship is transmitted Greek ... meaning a shadow that is formed when the luminary is in circulation (turning, the luminary illuminates objects, but they certainly cast a shadow, so that all objects and places cannot be illuminated uniformly, and the light of the Divine illuminates everything and leaves no shadow) .
On your many bounties are bold. We often understand the word of generosity in prayers as generous mercy. This is true, of course, but the main meaning of the corresponding Greek word is compassion, pity. To Your bounties, daring to come, - says the 5th prayer for Holy Communion. The mercy of the Creator and the Lord gives us boldness - courage in petition, we are presented not only to the Righteous Judge, but also to the loving Father, let us hear from Him: Dare, child! your sins are forgiven you (Matthew 9: 2), Dare, daughter! your faith has saved you (Matthew 9:22).
To those who await the coming of the bright and unveiled Day of Your Son, the Lord and God and Savior of Jesus Christ of ours ... Let not you be lazy and lazy, but watch and put up watchfulness, prepare, in joy and the Divine hall of glory we will share it, even celebrating the voice of unceasing the sweetness of your sighted faces is indescribable kindness. These words of prayer commemorate the parable of Christ about His Second Coming: May your loins be girded and burning lamps. And you will be like people who are waiting for the return of their master from marriage, so that when he comes and knocks, immediately open him.Blessed are those slaves whom the lord, having come, will find awake, I tell you truly, he will gird himself and plant them, and, approaching, will serve them (Luke 12: 35-37, see also chapters 24-25 of Matthew).
Inexpressible kindness - the unspeakable beauty of the Face of God - is not an aesthetic concept, but a fusion of the highest beauty and the highest Good. Let us recall the name of a precious collection of patristic teachings on how a person can and should approach God: "Ambitiousness." The beautiful Church Slavonic word kindness, consonant with our goodness, kindness, should return our mind to an understanding of goodness and goodness as ultimate, highest beauty. To be a Christian means to be awaiting and desiring the coming of the day of God (2 Pet. 3:12), light and manifest to the day when this higher beauty of Good will finally be revealed to those who love God. The Apostle James consoles and strengthens us in this expectation: So, brothers, be patient with the coming of the Lord. Now, the farmer expects a precious fruit from the earth and suffers for him for a long time until he receives early and late rain. Be patient too, strengthen your hearts, because the coming of the Lord is drawing near (James 5: 7-8).
Stinker, stink - into him. Writing in the same, in the wrong. Such a spelling was born from understanding the word as a combination of the preposition in with the pronoun he, this is true in content, but not in form (at the end of the pronoun he couldn’t arise at all, our soft sign). Here it’s more likely that it’s in and out: the preposition пред and the form of the pronoun ъ - and to which, in the position after the vowel preposition, “n” - v (n) - stink grows. Wed modern Russian: about them, into it, etc.
Prayer of the 6th, the same saint
Let us bless you, the supreme God and Lord of mercy, who is doing great things with us, yet unexplored, glorious and terrible, even without numbers, giving us a dream to calm our weakness and weaken the labors of the hard labor. We thank you, because you didn’t destroy us with our iniquities, but you usually love mankind, and if you didn’t lie, we built them, in a hedgehog, glorify Your power. We also pray for your immeasurable goodness, enlighten our thoughts and strides, and raise up our laziness from a heavy sleep, open our mouth, and fulfill Your praise, so that we can unshakably make your pet and confess to You, in all, and to all, the glorious God, To the Beginning Father, with Your Only Begotten Son, and All-Holy and Good and Life-giving Your Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.
We bless you - we praise you (the word bless means in the Church Slavonic language, following the Greek, not only the priestly or parental blessing familiar to us, but also a good word - praise). Unexplored - incomprehensible (recall - this was emphasized in the note to the prayer "King of Heaven" - that in the Church Slavonic language in the generalized meaning of the noun used adjectives of the middle gender of the plural: great and unexplored, glorious and terrible, even without a number - great and incomprehensible, glorious and terrible without a number). Usually - as always, as you constantly do. In the non-awareness of us, we are sleeping, who (in a dream did not realize the surrounding reality). In a hedgehog - so (note: this is why, why did the Lord awaken us from sleep!). Power - power, authority, subject area (that is, the whole world of God). Fulfill me - fill them.
Pay attention to the similarity of this prayer with the morning prayer to the Holy Trinity. You can compare these two prayers. Note that the prayer to the Most Holy Trinity is built in the singular (turned to God from the "I"), and the prayer of St. Basil the Great is in the plural (from the "we"). In the prayer rule, prayers with “I, me” wisely alternate — such, for example, all the prayers of St. Macarius the Great — and plural prayers (“we, us,”), an example of which is given primarily by the Lord’s prayer. This teaches the Christian to constantly pray for his neighbors, the Church and the whole world of God, and at the same time never to pray abstractly, "in general" - not to forget about the desperate state of his own soul.
Prayer 9th, to the Guardian Angel
Saint Angela, stand before my soul and the passion of my life, do not leave me less sinful, lower back from me for my intemperance. Do not give room to the crafty demon to possess me, by the violence of this dead body, strengthen my poor and thin hand, and guide me on the path of salvation.Forgive me, holy Angel of God, the keeper and patron of my soul and body, forgiven me, forgive me all, since I insulted you all the days of my belly, and as long as we sinned this night, covered me in the present day, and save me from any temptation of the opposite , and in no sin do I anger God, and pray for me to the Lord, that he may establish me in his strases, and show me worthy of my servant goodness. Amen.
Come - coming. Cursed - ill-fated, poor, full of struggle. Passion is here: long-suffering, unhappy (we recall that passion means suffering), however, it is slavery to sinful passions that is the main source of unhappiness in a person’s life. Below - and neither. Evil - evil, deceitful. Strengthen my poor and thin hand, and guide me on the path of salvation - in the Greek text of the prayer literally: "take me for an unhappy and lowered (weak-willed) hand and lead me on the path of salvation", the image of a man who has lost his will and energy is given, " dropping "hands, unable to independently get out on the salvation path. To her, yes, indeed (cf. colloquial: "she-she"). All ... insulting by thee - all that I offended you (the eldest - how many, how great). Cut - cut, protect. The opposite - opposing, enemy. Worthy will show me the slave of His goodness - will make me a slave worthy of His mercy (show usually means not "bring to an external likeness", as in modern language, but "make it obvious").
"Know that the Angels excite us to prayer and stand with us on it, rejoicing and praying for us together. So, if we are negligent and accept nasty thoughts, then we are extremely angry with them: because then they work so much for us, we are about ourselves we don’t want to beg God for ourselves, but neglecting our God’s ministry and leaving their God and Lord, we are talking with unclean demons (in thoughts). "
Rev. Neil of Sinai
The prayer invocation of the saint whose name you bear
The prayers of God for me, the holy servant of God (name), as if I am eagerly resorting to you, first aid and prayer book for my soul.
Like az - because I am. I come running - I ask for help.
The prayer to the holy intercessor in all prayer books is given in this, most general form, but in practice it is often said differently, according to church custom - with the naming of the holiness of the heavenly intercessor: "Moth of God for me, holy Archangel of God Michael ...", "Moth God about me, saint prophet of God Elijah ... "," ... holy apostle of God Peter ... "," ... holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Mary Magdalene ... "," ... Saint Father Nicholas ... "," ... holy Great Martyr and Victorious George ... "," ... holy Holy Martyr ... "," ... Holy Martyr ... "," ... Reverend tche Sergey ... "," ... the Reverend Mother Marie ... "- and so on.
In this part of the prayer rule, it is also good to include brief prayer appeals to other saints of God that you venerate. You can end them with an appeal to all the saints: All saints, pray to God for us! It is also good, at least sometimes, not to confine oneself to one prayer appeal, but to read or sing the troparia to the saint (or to several saints mentioned). Troparia to his holy patron should be known and understood.
Giving the name of the saint to the baptized person, the Church, as it were, gives him the right to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, where the saint has already moved, at the same time the Church shows the baptized person this path to the Kingdom of Heaven, which the saint co-named with him, was the way of life of the saint. By naming a person the name of a saint, the Church, as it were, connects him with a spiritual union with a saint of saints, presents him with intercession, cover and intercession before God. The saints named for us are our prayer books before God, guardians, like the Angels, and our mentors, our friends in heaven and helpers.
Song of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Hail Virgin Mary, rejoice, Blessed Mary, Lord be with you, blessed are you in women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, as if the Savior gave birth to our souls.
The words of this, the oldest and most beautiful of the countless prayers of the Mother of God, are taken from the Gospel - from the story of the Annunciation event:
Angel Gabriel was sent from God to the city of Galilee, called Nazareth, to the Virgin, betrothed to her husband, by the name of Joseph, from the house of David, the name of the Virgin: Mary. The angel, going in to her, said:
- Rejoice, gracious! The Lord is with Thee, blessed are you between the wives.
She, seeing him, was embarrassed by his words and wondered what kind of greeting this would be. And the angel said to her:
- Do not be afraid, Mary, for You have found grace from God, and behold, you will conceive in the womb, and you will bear the Son, and you will name Him: Jesus.
Having received the good news from the Angel, the Blessed Virgin immediately went to her holy cousin - the righteous Elizabeth, the future mother of John the Baptist. As soon as Elizabeth saw the Blessed Virgin, she was filled with the Holy Spirit, and exclaimed in a loud voice, and said:
- Blessed are you among the wives, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb! And where is it from me that the Mother of my Lord came to me? (Luke 1: 26-31,41-43).
The holy righteous Elizabeth, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, uttered the same amazing words as the Archangel Gabriel: Blessed are you between wives (or, in Church Slavonic: Blessed are you in wives). And we add to the words of the Angel and the righteous Elizabeth: like the Savior gave birth to our souls, expressing to this the Blessed Virgin Mary faith in Her Divine Son, whom we wholeheartedly recognize as the Savior of our souls.
“It is good to remember in prayer for the world of the Holy Churches and so forth for this, because this is the will of the apostolic, but in doing this, you must recognize yourself as unworthy and lacking power. The gospel and the apostolic word says: Pray for each other to be healed: the intensified prayer of the righteous can do a lot (James 5:16), and: As you want people to do with you, so do you with them (Luke 6:31). condemns himself, and therefore I can or can not, I compel myself to fulfill the commandment. "
Rev. Barsanuphius the Great
The commemoration is usually placed in prayer books at the end of morning prayers, however, it is not convenient for everyone to pray for the living and the dead in the morning. It is necessary to find the most acceptable time for the commemoration, for some it will be the evening when all things have been redone, for someone it will be the middle of the day, lunch break ...
If you can, instead of brief prayers for the living and the departed, read this commemoration: (on the next 2 pages of the editorial site).
Remember, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, Thy mercies and bounties from the age of existence, and for the sake of man have been made human, and crucifixion and death, for the sake of the right to be saved in You, undergone the will, and resurrected from the dead, ascended into heaven, and Sedish at the right hand of God the Father, and despise the humble pleas with all your heart calling you, bow your ear, and hear the humble prayer of me, your unworthy servant, to the stink of the fragrance of the spirit, that brings you for all your people. And in the first remember your Holy Church, the Cathedral and the Apostolic, already provided Thy with Your Honorable Blood, and establish and strengthen, and expand, multiply, die, and keep the gates of hell unbreakable forever, tearing down the Churches of the utih, reeling pagan quench, and revolts will soon be ravaged and uprooted, and converted into nothing by the power of your Holy Spirit. (Bow)
Bounties are manifestations of mercy, compassion. From the century, beings are eternal, existing from the beginning of the world. For their sake - for whom, according to which Prizeraesh - graciously look from above, bow with love. To the stink of a spiritual fragrance - like a fragrant spiritual sacrifice (stinking - smell, aroma, stink form here is similar to the “sacrifice” form in the expression “accept as a sacrifice”). First of all, first of all, first of all. South - which. He supplied the thou - saved, guarded (supplied) - to preserve, preserve, save). Hell's gates - by the forces of hell (ancient, frequent expression in the Bible). Tearing - strife, division into parts, separation. Reel - indignation, rebellion.
Remember, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, Your mercy and bounties from the age of existence ... The first prayer is the petition to the Lord Jesus Christ to commemorate His mercies, for which He was humanized, and he was crucified and died, and resurrected and ascended. The prayer recalls the whole work of the dispensation of God — God's providence. All of this — the mercy of God to the human race from time to time — is the basis for our subsequent petitions for the whole world.
Save, Lord, and have mercy on our God-protected country, its authorities and its army, and let us live a quiet and silent life in all piety and purity. (Bow)
God save and have mercy on the Great Lord and our Father, His Holiness the Patriarch (name), His Eminence Metropolitans, Archbishops and Bishops of Orthodoxy, the priests and deacons, and the whole church charge, even put Thy mouth to verse, and have mercy and pray for them sinful. (Bow)
Already - which. Verbal - here: spiritual, rational (there is also an expression of a flock of Your verbal sheep).
God save and have mercy on my spiritual father (his name), and forgive my sins with his holy prayers. (Bow)
Save, Lord, and have mercy on my parents (their names), brothers and sisters, and my relatives in the flesh, and all the kin of my kind, and others, and grant them Your peace and premium good. (Bow)
Your peace and premium good - your earthly and heavenly blessings (literally: your worldly and worldly good).
God save and have mercy on the elders and the young, beggar and orphan and widow, and being in illness and sorrow, troubles and sorrows, conditions and captivity, dungeons and imprisonment, much more so in persecution, for you and the Orthodox faith, from the language of the godless, from the apostate and from heretics, existing Thy servants, and I remember, visit, strengthen, comfort, and soon by Your strength weaken, freedom, and deliver them to please. (Bow)
The beings are those who are abiding. Situation - difficult circumstances of life, adversity (the main meaning of the word "condition" is a siege). Happier - especially, more than anything. For the sake of you and the Orthodox faith - for you and the Orthodox faith. From the tongue - from the Gentiles. I ... them. Weakening is a relief. I will deliver - deliverance.
God save and have mercy on our fathers and brothers, sent to the service, traveling, and all Orthodox Christians. (Bow)
Save, Lord, and have mercy on me even with the insanity of my temptations, and from the path of salvation abhorrence, to the work of an evil and unseemly supply, Thy Divine Providence to the path of salvation return the packs. (Bow)
Ihe - those whom. Az - me. Temptations, disgust, mischief - I seduced, averted, brought (the form of the first person of a single part of the past tense - an aorist). Packie - again.
Save, Lord, and have mercy on those who hate and offend me, and who do misfortunes by me, and do not leave them to die for me for the sake of sinners. (Bow)
Creative misfortunes - doing me evil.
Having departed from the Orthodox faith and were blinded by hellish heresies, enlighten with the light of Your knowledge and Your Holy Apostles of the Catholic Church. (Bow)
About the departed
Remember, Lord, from this life the departed orthodox kings and queens, noble princes and princesses, His Holiness Patriarchs, His Grace Metropolitans, Archbishops and Bishops of Orthodoxy, in the same priest and in the parable of the Church, and in your holy monk, rest. (Bow)
Remember, Lord, the souls of your dead servants, my parents (their names), and all relatives of the flesh, and forgive them all sins, free and involuntary, granting them the kingdom and communion of your eternal good and your endless and blissful life pleasure. (Bow)
Remember, Lord, and all in the hope of the resurrection and life of the eternal deceased, our fathers and our brethren, and sisters, and lying everywhere, Orthodox Christians, and with Your saints, even the light of Your face is present, have mercy and mercy on us, for it is Good and The philanthropist. Amen. (Bow)
Idezhas is present - where it shines (attitudes - to visit, to visit).
O Lord, forgive the remission of sins to all who departed in faith and hope of the resurrection, our father, our brothers and sisters, and create eternal memory for them. (Thrice)
Create eternal memory for them. The words eternal memory over decades of use in a godless society have been completely meaningless for many: eternal memory was somehow assumed outside of eternity, outside of God (apparently, in a series of generations: children, grandchildren ...). In the earthly dimension, the wise will not be remembered forever, nor foolish; in the days to come, everything will be forgotten, and alas! the wise dies along with the foolish (Eccl. 2:16). Only the eternal Deity can remember forever. We begin our commemoration of the whole world with a petition: Remember, Lord ... - and, finally, we ask Him to remember forever, to constantly remember those who have departed from temporary life to eternal. And this psalm speaks of this memory of God: in memory of the eternal will the righteous be (Psalm 111: 6). Praying: Remember, Lord ... - remember also the words of the prudent robber: Remember me, Lord, when you come to Your Kingdom! and Jesus' answer: Verily I say unto you, now you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23: 42-43). If God keeps you in your memory, you exist (this can be contrasted with the famous words of Descartes: “I think, therefore I exist”).
End of prayers
It is fitting to truly bless thee, Mother of God, Blessed and Immaculate, and Mother of our God. The most honest Cherub and the most glorious, without comparison, the Seraph, without the destruction of the God of the Word, who gave birth to the Mother of God Th, we magnify.
It is worthy to eat - it should, it should. Like truly - truly, in justice (like - like). Bliss is to praise. The blessed is always blissful (always - always). Immaculate - the most immaculate, completely sinless. The Honest Cherub - worthy of greater honor than the Cherubim. The most famous without comparison Seraphim - deserving of incomparably greater glorification than the Seraphim. Without decay - without compromising purity. Real - real.
Cherubim (in Hebrew, this word means "outpouring of wisdom") and Seraphim ("flaming") - the highest Angels closest to God.
The second half of the prayer - “The Most Honorable Cherub ...” (it is still used independently in worship) - was composed in the 8th century by St. Cosmas, Bishop of Mayum ... According to legend, this song was composed by him on Good Friday, a day especially mournful for the Mother of God . After that, the Most Holy Theotokos appeared to the reverend and with a joyful face said: “Your songs are pleasant to Me, but this is more pleasant than all the others, those who sing spiritual songs are pleasant to Me, but I have never been so close to them as when they were singing this new song yours. " The words of the Honest Cherub go back to the laudable word of Our Lady Ephraim of Syria: "The most honest Cherubim, incomparable before all the heavenly armies ..."
In the 10th century, this song chosen by the Mother of God received an even more wonderful beginning.
In one of the monasteries of Mount Athos, the novice prayed in his cell. There was a knock on the door, a stranger entered, with a beautiful view of the monks, and joined in the chant. When the Athos novice was about to begin the glorification of the Mother of God “The Most Honorable Cherub ...”, the guest stopped him and sang a different, unknown beginning: “It is fitting to truly bless thee, Mother of God, the Blessed Mother and Our Mother of God”, and already to these unknown until now, added the words to the ending: "Honest Cherub."
The Athos monk was touched by both the wondrous words and the sounds of an angelic voice, and began to ask the stranger monk to write him the beginning of the cherished song. But in the cell there was neither parchment (on which they wrote before the invention of paper), nor ink. Then the guest asked to bring a stone slab and with the end of his finger wrote the words he had sung on the slab. Presenting the plate to the astonished monk, he said: "From now on, always you and all Orthodox Christians sing like this" - and became invisible. Then the monk realized that he was visited by an angel of God.
Since then, this amazing prayer has remained in the Church, in which the angelic song joined the inspired creation of man: since 980, the hymn according to the Cathedral definition of the Church began to be sung in a new, full version.
Note. From Easter to Ascension, instead of this prayer, the chorus and irmos of the 9th song of the Easter canon are read:
The angel cries out to the Gracious: Pure Virgin, rejoice! And pack the river: rejoice! Your Son is risen three days from the sepulcher, and having set up the dead, people, have fun!
Shine, shine, the new Jerusalem, the glory of the Lord is upon you to ascend. Rejoice now and have fun, Zion, Thou, Pure, show off, Mother of God, about the rebellion of Your Nativity.
This remark applies to prayers for the coming dream.
Glory, and now: Lord, have mercy (Thrice).
Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, prayers for Thy Most Holy Mother Mater, reverend and God-bearing our father and all saints, have mercy on us, Amen ..
